Department of Mathematics (DOM) of University college of Engineering Arni has been started in the academic year 2009-2010 with an aim to incorporate the applied mathematical skills to the undergraduate engineering students of all disciplines. The students of the University College of Engineering Arni are taught fundamental mathematics prescribed for all semesters as per the curriculum of Anna University Chennai. The Department has been sanctioned with six teaching posts at the levels of Assistant Professor and Associate Professorship for the existing number of courses offered by the institution.
The department offers the following courses to various disciplines
  • Engineering Mathematics I, II and III
  • Probability and Queuing theory
  • Probability and Random process
  • Numerical methods and statistics
  • Discrete Mathematics
The faculty members of Mathematics are highly motivated to do research in the specialized areas such as Fluid Dynamics, Matrix Theory, Functional Analysis and Topology. Many faculties have been recognized as the Research Supervisors of Anna University Chennai. DOM of UCEA has also planned to offer Post Graduate programme in applied mathematics and Research programmes leading to M.Phil and Ph.D degrees in near future.
